J.B. Pratt
Owner
J.B. has been in the grocery business for decades, first as an independent retailer, overseeing the small set of Oklahoma stores he took over from his father in the late 1970s. Just after getting a medical degree, he took over the family business because he felt it was something he could do himself. He eventually expanded the business to open a few large supermarkets, including one in Moore and another OKC on I-240 and Walker. He brought his medical training into the grocery business, promoting healthy eating in his stores in the 1990s and 2000s.
Here is a 1986 article in The Daily Oklahoman: https://www.oklahoman.com/story/news/1986/04/13/pratts-in-moore-innovative-supermarket/62729680007/
About 15 years ago, after closing all of the stores, he began selling locally-produced foods in the Oklahoma City metro at farmers markets. He has maintained his interests in medicine and health and likes to discuss supplements and natural and organic foods.
J.B. began using Wellness Connection as the name for his food-related business after closing Pratt Foods in 2004, hoping to provide resources, products, and consulting on dietary, grocery, and food matters.
His son John processes paperwork for Wellness Connection while also building up his own technology news website, http://dfork.news/. An earlier website John that co-founded, Fundable (2005-2009), was the source of the word "crowdfunding" (via an unauthorized offshoot that someone made, called Fundavlog). John sold the Fundable domain name to the current owners in 2010, just before crowdfunding took off.
The OKC Farmers Market is located in the Farmers District of downtown Oklahoma City, at 311 S. Klein. It is open every Saturday from 9AM to 2PM.

From The Tulsa World:
Steve Seikel, creator of Seikel’s Oklahoma Gold Old Style Mustard, could never find mustard that suited his taste.
"I tried many different kinds of mustard, but they always had corn syrup in them or they weren’t hot enough or they had a weird consistency," he says. "So, I tried making my own."
The result was a no-nonsense mustard that is "a little sweet, a little hot and a lot of good."
"I just wanted to make something delicious for myself," Seikel says. "But I’m amazed at how many people love mustard. Everyone I talk to — it’s, like, their favorite thing."
Freshly ground mustard seeds are the secret to his mustard’s signature heat and warm yellow hue. Most importantly, it is all natural and gluten-free, with no thickeners or corn syrup and no dyes, "so there are no dietary barriers to your mustard enthusiasm," he says.
